5 games in VR chosen by the Charpstar team

Today Emil and Arjun have selected 5 virtual reality games for you to try out when you have the possibility!

The Lab – Longbow

The Lab created by Valve Corporation and developed for Microsoft Windows. This game is available on HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed reality. The lab is composed of 8 mini-games including The Archery. This mini archery game aims to protect a fortress from an invasion of small characters by shooting with the bow using VR controllers. The movements are wide and similar to those of reality.

Space Pirates

Space Pirates is similar to arcades, except it is immersive. The objective of the game is to fight waves of droids with all the weapons and tools to become a space pirate, and achieve the best possible score. This game is played standing up, beyond shooting at the droids, you will also have to move to avoid their shots, enough to put you in the shoes of a pirate. The game offers great freedom on changing weapons and shields.

Lands End – Gear VR – Puzzle Game with Low Poly Graphics

Land’s End allows you to explore spectacular landscapes. Land’s End is composed of 5 chapters based on exploration with the objective of awakening an ancient civilization. Created by the developers of Monument Valley, Land’s End offers unusual challenges and riddles such as Monument Valley, but focuses on fluidity and progression for those seeking an experience. Land’s End is based on head tracking to solve different types of puzzles such as connecting points using a beam that cannot cross.  This game does not use a VR controller and only uses visual control to impress you, isn’t that the primary purpose of virtual reality?

VRChat

VRChat is available on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, but can also be played in desktop version with some limitations. This game allows you to create your own world and interact via virtual avatars. There is also a software development kit parallel to the game to create and import different character types and environments. This game is similar to Habbo Hotel, you can live in this virtual world through audio lip synchronization and eye tracking but also participate in mini-games and interact with other avatars.

Super Hot VR

SuperHot VR is an FPS of about twenty levels that mixes strategy and chaos. Time only passes when you move. Unlike many games, there is no ammunition to recover here and there and health does not regenerate. The player is alone facing a horde of better armed enemies than him, can retrieve their ammunition to fire and cut. Like the games previously presented it is available on HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed reality. SuperHot VR is a bit of a chaotic release, but requires physical effort to avoid shots and throws, especially since in case of death you have to start all the scenes over again. The objective, to survive in the middle of this chaos in slow-motion.

The team offers you 3 bonus VR games, it’s up to you to discover them!
